98% of the time, green water is due to algae present in your pool water.

Algae comes from the LACK of chlorine.

DO NOT run your filter if you have green water or algae present.

If you run your filter, you will clog the filter up. NO FILTER is designed to remove algae from your pool. A filter is only designed to remove suspended dirt particles from your water.

Cure:  

1. DO NOT run the filter.
2. Triple shock your pool with HTH chlorine at 3 oz. per 1,000 gallons every evening until you can maintain a 3 P.P.M. reading on your chlorine test strips. Use an algaecide as well.
3. After the green color is gone and you are maintaining a 3 P.P.M. free available chlorine reading, you may start your filter.
4. Bring a water sample to Crystal Pools so we can check your pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and chlorine conditioner levels.
