Spa Winterization

Procedure to Winterizing Your Spa
-
Turn off the power to the spa at the G.F.C.I. and turn off the breaker to the spa and in your electrical panel box in your home.
-
Remove all removable accessories i.e. pillows and filter(s).
-
Drain all the water out of the spa via the hose bib, by siphoning, or use a small submersible pump. This pump is the fastest method of draining water and is available for purchase.
-
After the water has drained from the tub, you must suction all remaining water from the tub, filter housing area, jets and suction ports with a shop vac. Start from the top jets and work down. This procedure should be done twice.
-
Vacuum air jets in the seats (if any).
-
Wipe out the spa with spa cleaner, so spa is ready for Spring fill up.
-
This is a good time to clean and put a protective coating on the spa cover.
-
We recommend covering your winterized spa with a spa garage cover to protect your cover and cabinet from the harsh winter elements and to keep water from blowing under your hard cover.
-
Store all chemicals in a dry, well ventilated area that is above freezing.
-
Your spa is now winterized. If you have any questions, regarding this procedure, please call or contact us and we will winterize your spa for you.
Reminder: Don't allow large amounts of snow/ice to accumulate on top of the cover.
Do not use a shovel to remove snow.
Check Spa monthly and suction any rainwater that may get into spa or drain out of heavy covers.
