Winter Maintenance
Winter Maintenance
During cold weather months, you must be checking your spa every couple of days. This is mandatory because if your spa malfunctions, breaker trips, or heater does not operate, your spa can freeze and this can cause major damage. Damage due to freezing is not covered by your spa warranty. If the spa is not functioning properly during cold weather months, contact Crystal Pools Spa Service Department or follow the winterization procedure sheet to prevent freeze up. Always be sure that the power is on to the hot tub during the winter months and be sure that the filters are clean. Dirty filters will cause improper water flow and prevent the heater from working.
A spa can not freeze up in a couple of days. It would normally take a week or more before a freeze up would occur if the spa water was up to a 100 degree temperature. Therefore, we know that a frozen spa was a neglected spa and not checked in over a week.
